Distributed Source has a feature where you can setup an ‘out of office’ response for your inbound emails and include your team mate in the response so that they’re notified of the email. This is helpful in cases where you’re on vacation or on leave for multiple days.
How It Works
1. You visit the Settings -> Emails -> Out of Office page to setup your out of office status.
2. When you get an email from a lead/customer to one of your email addresses configured with inbound forwarding, they immediately get a response informing them that you’re out of office.
3. The same out of office email is also sent to your team mate.
4. Both you and your team mate get a notification in DS informing each of you that an email was received.
5. Clicking on the notification will direct you to the relevant page where the email is posted.
When you return from your vacation, you can simply visit the same Settings page and turn off your Out of Office status.
How to setup your Out of Office status
1. Visit the Settings -> Emails page and navigate to the Out of Office tab.
2. Select the user who will be notified about your inbound emails.
3. Select an email address of that user to which the emails will be sent to.
4. Write a short and simple message that will be the email body of your ‘out of office’ response. Your email signature will be included at the bottom automatically.

5. Press the Save button
6. Click on the toggle at the bottom to turn on your Out of Office status
Don’t forget to turn off your ‘Out of Office’ status when you to return to work!
